I just read in the section "On my radar"  Anohni’s cultural highlights, she is a musician and visual artist was born in Chichester in 1971. She recounts 6 interesting cultural topics to discuss and start a conversation. Among them are topics related to TV, music, photography, places, art and hobbies.

In relation to tv she talks about the biographical film of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who apparently is very funny. Then on the subject of music she talks about an incredible and influential artist Marvin Gaye, On the subject of photography, she questions the situation of women in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of the United States from this country, through the photography "The Price of Peace in Afghanistan" by Mads Nissen, on the subject of places, she mentions the fascination she has when returning to a place that previously had a strong police presence and today is free, full of different people sharing and having fun. About art, she mentions an artistic intervention that moved her a lot called Evolution of Fearlessness by Lynette Wallworth at the Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam, about refugee women. Finally, she mentions a hobby that she has of observing water in different capacities, especially in the movement of water in the oceans, she also emphasizes the importance of climate change on sea temperature and its possible negative effects for aquatic life.

I am interested in several topics to discuss but if I have to choose one, it would be about the transformation of those places that were strongly repressed and that today can become meeting places for people, where various activities are carried out. I think that after the pandemic, meeting situations and sharing between people becomes more important.

6 things that are on my cultural radar

1. Memory
It is important for me to remember the events that have occurred in the history of our society, especially those that have effects to this day. The commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the dictatorship is an important and painful date for Chilean memory.

2. Childrens
Childhood is a subject that is rarely taken seriously, children are not considered for many plans within a society. It is something that we must reverse and consider the protection of children as a fundamental right of a society

3. Mental health
Recently there is talk about mental health in schools, universities and jobs, which makes me happy because this allows new generations to consider mental health as something essential for well-being, talking about it can prevent serious illnesses related to this

4. Photography
I recently met a photographer artist named Chas Gerretsen, who took pictures during the military dictatorship in Chile, the photos he took just came to light a couple of months ago.

5. Documentary film
"Escapes de gas" is an extremely interesting and beautiful documentary that records unpublished material on the construction and meaning of the UNCTAD III building, better known as "GAM".

6. Transport
I am always surprised at the long journeys that have to be made to get around Santiago. Although distances are not long in kilometres, if they are many minutes to hours on public transport, I would choose to travel by bicycle but I consider traffic very unsafe and it scares me so I frequently travel an hour by bus
